JUDGE FOR THE 4th ANNUAL COMPETITION
Sister Mary Fisher, OP - Having taught English literature and composition in schools and universities in the Mid-west (most recently, for 20 years at the University of Michigan), Mary served as editor of the DIA Newsletter. She says she is glad to use the skills honed during 52 years of teaching. Mary Fisher was born in Detroit, Michigan, and entered the Racine Dominican community because she was attracted by their friendliness and good humor. Now retired, she spends her time in sedentary pursuits, although she continues to engage in water aerobics at a local Y. Beauty in all its aspects appeals to her, and she delights in using her Dominican charism of preaching both in and out of the pulpit. She has edited several books, written one book and dozens of poems. Retired from active service, Mary ministers to others in whatever ways she can. Look for her forthcoming book, "My Heart is Hiding" sometime in early 2008!
